Tenebris Somnia has four endings. Two of them are decided by a single choice after you forge the Aurifer, and two are hidden and each needs its own fresh playthrough.
- SOLVE ET COAGULA (Ending #1, reached by 23.1% of players) — leave every Relicta ghost alive, then walk into Séptimo Arte and fight Lacuna.
- MAGNUM OPUS (Ending #2, 23.5%) — kill at least one Relicta ghost with the Aurifer, then fight Hermes.
- VIVUS EX MORTIBUS (Ending #3, hidden, 7.3%) — the rarest ending in the game, reached with three Iron Crosses.
- RENUNTIATIO (Ending #4, hidden, 12.8%) — the shortest route in the game.
The two endings you can reach in one run
Both main endings are reached the same way: go south through the hotel rooms to the production-company lobby, climb the main staircase to Floor 3, take the left-hand door to the street, walk left into the Séptimo Arte building, inspect the sealed door at the far end, then walk back toward the entrance and speak with Vitria to start the finale.
The branch was already decided by then. What the finale looks like on each branch is covered in the final boss guide.
The practical trick is the save file. Make a manual save the moment you have the Aurifer, ride that save to the credits for SOLVE ET COAGULA, then reload it and take the killing route for MAGNUM OPUS — without replaying the whole building.
The Relicta choice that decides two Tenebris Somnia endings
After the Aurifer is forged, the Relicta ghosts cower away from you instead of attacking, and only the Aurifer can kill them.
- Leave every one of them alive and the endgame forks to SOLVE ET COAGULA.
- Kill at least one — one is enough, you do not have to clear every floor — and it forks to MAGNUM OPUS.
Reloading instead of restarting has a second payoff, because on the killing pass you can also clear every Relicta for the hidden achievement that asks for all of them. Kill them one at a time and wait for the golden particles to fade before the next one, or the counter misses kills.
The two hidden endings
Both unlock only after endings #1 and #2 are already recorded, and each one needs its own new game. RENUNTIATIO takes a couple of minutes; VIVUS EX MORTIBUS needs three Iron Crosses, one for each puzzle you can solve the wrong way on purpose. The full route for both is in the secret ending guide.
Is there a New Game Plus?
There is no New Game Plus mode. The game ships as single-player with no difficulty select, no carried-over stats and no second cycle.
What some walkthroughs call New Game+ is simply starting a fresh playthrough after you have already finished the game, which is exactly how the two hidden endings work. There is one extra mode announced for after release, in which the save system is tied to consumable items the way classic horror games tied saving to ink ribbons. It was announced but was not in the current builds, so treat it as a future update rather than something to plan a run around.
How to plan the runs
Endings #1 and #2 share one save — one manual save after the Aurifer and one reload — while each hidden ending needs its own new game, so seeing all four takes at least three playthroughs. A good order is to finish the main route first, then run the few-minute RENUNTIATIO ending, and keep the long Iron Cross hunt for last. The achievements need the same planning, and the three-save layout that covers both is set out in the achievements guide.
