The Phantom Blade Zero weapons list runs to more than 30 primary weapons, all of them Blades — there is no staff, club or bow in the primary slot — plus more than 20 Phantom Edges in the secondary slots. Every primary weapon falls into one of three classes: Single Blades for one-handed speed, Twin Blades for dual-wield pressure, and Heavy Blades for two-handed guard breaking. You carry two Blades and two Phantom Edges at a time and you can swap mid-fight.
Three classes, three jobs
| Class | How many | Core strength |
|---|---|---|
| Single Blades | 10 | Fast, short recovery, widest parry coverage — the safest default for learning a boss |
| Twin Blades | 9 | Two weapons at once, trading reach for hit count |
| Heavy Blades | 9 | Slow but powerful, and the main way to break a guard |
The three classes are not interchangeable, and the difference is the reason a loadout works. The weapon types page goes through what each class does in a fight and which individual weapons fit each role.
Every Blade in the Phantom Blade Zero weapons list
Single Blades — Wooden Sanguine, Sanguine, Jagged Steel, Wild Oriole Sword, The Fanatic's Broken Blade, Tianxuan Bronze Sword, Soft Snake Sword, Freezing Chaos, Aureate, Venomous Softblade.
Twin Blades — Sanguine Twin, Fiend Saws, White Serpent and Crimson Viper, Parting Hooks, Sundering Dual Axes, Baishan Stormswords, Seamless Death, The Lady's Fan, Drunken Sword.
Heavy Blades — Sanguine Reach, Scarlet Wraithblade, Outlaw Warblade, Armybreaker, Juggernaut, Whiteshadow, Crescent Blade, Bonesaw, Tiger Cannon.
Where the Blades come from
Weapons arrive through story progress, optional areas, side quests and boss drops. The drop side is the largest: The Frenzied Brute hands over Jagged Steel, Hua Qianxiao the Sword Fanatic gives The Fanatic's Broken Blade, Jing Ye the Outlaw drops the Outlaw Warblade, Bai Chilian gives White Serpent and Crimson Viper, Wu Xuan the Fallen General drops Wolfjaw, Cavalrybane gives Armybreaker, Wan Jun the Coppermaul drops the Bashpole, Yuding the Crescent Blade Puppet gives Crescent Blade and Meng Hua gives The Lady's Fan. The full boss list has every boss with its region and its drop, so you can plan a route through the eight regions around the gear you actually want.
The other sources are the ones worth checking before you move on: the jade chests that Quick Hand Zhang requests, rewards from quest lines, and one Phantom Edge that has to be assembled from parts.
How upgrades work
Each weapon is upgraded on its own track to a maximum level of 30, with passive unlocks at levels 5, 10, 15 and 25. From Chapter 4 you can Soul Temper a weapon for a permanent transformation, which is a separate system from levelling and cannot be undone.
Upgrading costs Remnant Dust plus metals and solvent matched to the weapon class:
| Slot | Metal | Phantom Edge material |
|---|---|---|
| One-handed (Single) | Forged Metal | Martial, Destruction, Artifice, Ranged or Summon |
| Dual-wield (Twin) | Twinned Metal | Martial, Destruction, Artifice, Ranged or Summon |
| Two-handed (Heavy) | Broadplate Metal | Martial, Destruction, Artifice, Ranged or Summon |
The Remnant Dust comes in three brackets: 100 for levels 1 to 10, 1,000 for levels 10 to 20 and 10,000 for levels 20 to 30. Reforging a weapon back to level 1 returns all of its materials, but it needs a Reforging Talisman — one at level 10 and up, two at level 20 and up. Keeping unused weapons at level 1 and reforging the ones you swap out is the intended way to respec, because weapon growth changes movesets and not just numbers.
Which weapons to build around
Because a level 30 weapon plays very differently from a level 1 one, the ranking that matters is the one you can act on. The best weapons page covers the general-purpose pick, the boss pick, the crowd pick and the survival pick, plus the pairing that covers most situations.
The second slot
The two slots beside your Blades hold Phantom Edges — bows, hand cannons, axes, hammers, scythes and other support weapons that draw on a shared charge pool. They are limited-use and refill only at checkpoints, which makes them opening moves and panic buttons rather than damage dealers. The Phantom Edge page lists every one with a documented source, and which of them double as keys that open sealed paths.
