The Find The Needle hay products guide follows one chain: loose hay is the raw input, and it can be sold as it is, packed into hay wads with the Silo, or processed into hay pulp, compressed bales, eco bricks, hay paper and pellets. There is no single most profitable product, because the answer depends on what your own line can still move.
Find The Needle hay products guide: loose hay, wads and processed products
- Loose hay is the raw input. It can be sold as it is, packed into a Hay Wad, or processed further.
- Hay Wad is the packaged form of hay, produced by the Silo.
- Processed products are hay pulp, compressed bales, eco bricks, hay paper and pellets.
- The machines named in the demo are Conveyor Belt, Hay Sell Stand, Needle Scanner, Pellet Disc Machine, Power Pole, Robotic Arm, Silo, U-Joiner, U-Splitter and Vacuum Yard, plus the bale presses and the paper machines the store description lists — balers, hay wrappers, paper machines and sorting machines.
The Silo is the step most players meet first, and it behaves differently from the presses — what the Silo does and why it stalls is worth reading before you wire one in.
Check four things before you buy a machine
- The input it accepts, and whether your current line can deliver that material.
- The power it needs, and whether a pole can reach it.
- Where the product exits, and whether there is room to connect a belt.
- Where the output goes next.
Every one of those products also has a second use: the burners take Hay, Compressed Hay, Wrapped Bails, Eco Bricks and Discs, so the bales and bricks you were going to sell can keep the lights on instead. The power grid page has the fuel list and the disc trade-off.
Read the machine's resource indicators instead of guessing from its name. The Pellet Disc Machine shows BRICKS and HAY indicators that tell you exactly what it is waiting for. And do not assume one product feeds the next — each processing line is set up on its own.
There is no fixed most-profitable product
- Raw loose hay is the low-value option. It sells for the intake price and nothing more.
- Hay bales sell for significantly more than raw hay, so the Compressor plans and the Bale Press are the first real money upgrade. Buy several Bale Presses plus the Faster Bale Press node rather than one slow press.
- Paper mills become the best source of cash quickly once you can run them.
- Past that stage the game stops being about margin. Once the factory produces enough, you no longer need cash, you need throughput.
There is no fixed rule, because the answer depends on the rates your own build measures — compare the machines you actually run rather than a fixed list. Scanners slow every lane they sit on, so the highest-value product is the one your line can still move.
Once you have the loop running, the money and purchase order page covers how to convert that into income.
