There are ten Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea romance options, five men and five women, grouped by the town they live in. One twist catches everybody: Robert and Carol are the two playable protagonists, so only nine of the ten are available in any single save.

Courtability does not depend on the gender of your farmer — every candidate can be pursued whichever protagonist you played.

The five bachelors

  • Robert — Bloomfield Village, Spring. Your childhood best friend if you played as Carol. A bit rash, and his impulsive decision is what sends you out of Bloomfield to see the rest of Teradea.
  • Aaron — Tidewind, Summer. His father has been stranded on a remote island for years after sailing out in dangerous weather to help Tidewind, so Aaron has been raising his two younger brothers and helping his mother. His route includes finding his father.
  • Hank — Quarrytop, Winter. Not a native; he wandered in and loves adventure, from hunting treasure in deep caves to investigating what is going on inside the Quarrytop Mine.
  • Bryce — Maplehill Town, Autumn. The younger son of a wealthy real estate tycoon, more open to change than his mother and older brother, with the goal of opening the town up to new forms of music and art.
  • Sergei — Maplehill Town, Autumn. The mysterious inventor fascinated by unusual phenomena, especially the mist around the Forest of Echoes. He talks to cats around town, and Doc Jr. is his ally rather than a candidate.

The full route from first gift to wedding is on the romance guide page.

The five bachelorettes

  • Carol — Bloomfield Village, Spring. The other playable protagonist, and the childhood best friend if you played as Robert.
  • Jane — Bloomfield Village, Spring. The village teacher, who dreams of visiting the Maplehill University library.
  • Mara — Tidewind, Summer. Daughter of the head boatsman, and she wants to be the best sailor in the world. Her father Art is the one marooned on the remote island.
  • Lorelei — Quarrytop, Winter. Head of the Quarrytop Mining Union, which makes her the person who hands out mine access.
  • Shirley — Maplehill Town, Autumn. The experimental musician whose harmonica needs Amad's 3 Gold, 3 Garnet and 3 Moonstone.

The DocPad calendar tracks village completions and seasonal festivals, and each candidate has their own personal goal that plays into their storyline.

The Robert and Carol catch

Robert and Carol are the two protagonists you choose between at the start of the game. Whichever one you do not pick becomes your childhood best friend and a romance candidate.

  • Play as Carol and Robert is the bachelor you can pursue in Bloomfield Village.
  • Play as Robert and Carol is the candidate instead, so on that save he is not in your list at all.

You cannot marry both of them in the same save. The community marriage guide lists Robert's likes and dislikes as not yet published, so check the DocPad rather than a third-party list for his exact preferences — the gift guide page explains where the authoritative list lives.

Seasons and where each candidate lives

The bachelor and bachelorette split follows the season of the town: Spring for Bloomfield, Summer for Tidewind, Winter for Quarrytop, Autumn for Maplehill. That means the season you meet a candidate in is decided by where they live, not by your birthday choice.

Marriage only opens after the main story is finished, you can then have a pregnancy and a child, and the game limits you to one child.
