The Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea gift guide has one source of truth: the DocPad. Gifting is the main way to build a friendship, and the game tells you what each villager likes rather than making you guess. Every villager has a profile in the DocPad's resident directory that fills in automatically as your friendship rises.
Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea gift guide and where the list lives
The authoritative source for gift preferences is the DocPad's resident directory. Every villager has a profile there, and their preferred likes and dislikes appear automatically as your friendship with them rises. The more you know a villager, the more of their profile is revealed.
So the gift guide is not a separate list — it is the directory itself. Open the DocPad, select the villager, and read the loved, liked and disliked items once you are friendly enough for them to show.
The DocPad resident directory
The DocPad is opened from the Plus button and carries four things: the world map, the requests you have received, the calendar and the resident directory. The calendar lists village completions and seasonal festivals, both of which boost your relationships, and the map tracks seed wisps, wild animals, fish locations and minable ores.
Who you can actually pursue is listed on the romance options page.
What a gift does for you
Giving a gift raises friendship points and Happilia points together, so a gift helps your regional progress even when it is not the villager's favourite item. Gifts are also how you push candidates through their heart events: raise the friendship high enough and a Musical Note icon appears on the minimap and the regional map, and interacting with it fires the next cutscene.
The whole loop from first gift to wedding is on the romance guide page.
Known preferences for the candidates
From the community marriage guide:
| Candidate | Likes | Dislikes |
|---|---|---|
| Jane | White Tulip | Surf Clam |
| Carol | Cherry | Coffee Fruit |
| Aaron | Matsutake Mushroom | Stone |
| Mara | Milk | Carrot |
| Sergei | Mountain Lotus | Crucian Carp |
Robert, Hank, Lorelei, Bryce and Shirley do not have published item lists yet, and Robert's entry in the community guide is literally marked as undecided. The DocPad reveals the real list for every one of them, so check the resident directory rather than relying on any third-party list.
Animal gift preferences
Animals have their own gift preferences, separate from villagers. Hand-feeding an animal its favourite food increases the quality of the product it produces, so the same item list works for your livestock and for the people in town.
The animals themselves, what the Animal Center sells and how much of it there is, are on the animal list page.
