Probably Stolen water purification runs on one base machine and a set of tools. The Moisture Farm is the base water machine: it runs overnight, needs a container and an energy source attached, and outputs Pure Water into the container. The big change in version 1.0 is that filters no longer remove microbes — purification pills and UV lamps are what reach high-quality water.
Probably Stolen Water Purification: The Machine Line-up
| Machine or tool | What it does | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Moisture Farm | Runs overnight, needs a container and an energy source, outputs Pure Water | 350 credits, cut from 650 in hotfix 1.0.0.2 |
| Water Filter | Handles physical contaminants in water you buy | 25 credits, cut from 50 in hotfix 1.0.0.2 |
| Water Purifier | Cycle now stops at a set purity level instead of a soft limit | — |
| Purification pill | Drives chemical contaminant down to 0.71% | — |
| Heating Plate | Boiling removes impurities and contaminants | — |
| Heat-treatment water purifier | The machine version of boiling, added in 1.0, more consistent output | — |
A Moisture Farm draws 4 energy per day at base. A heavily modified unit pulls 12 per day and pushes out 6150 ml of Pure Water, with modules reading Performance +515%, Efficiency -200% and Quality +170%.
The water quality page covers what each grade is worth once you have it.
Filters, Pills And UV: What Cleans What
Filters and purification are two different jobs. Filters handle physical contaminants. Purification pills and UV lamps handle chemical contaminants and microbes.
A purification pill can drive chemical contaminant down to 0.71%, but it needs at least 1 ml of water present. With no water in the container it adds 15 ml of chlorine and ruins the yield.
Boiling water on a Heating Plate removes impurities and contaminants, and it is the cheap way to turn a shortage into a surplus of pure water without buying a purifier. The heat-treatment purifier added in 1.0 is the machine version of the same idea and produces pure water more consistently. The evaporator page covers the other machine that works by boiling things off.
What Changed In Version 1.0
- Filters no longer remove microbes. Use purification pills and UV lamps for that.
- The Water Purifier cycle stops at a set purity level rather than a soft limit.
- Hotfix 1.0.0.2 cut the Moisture Farm from 650 to 350 credits and the Water Filter from 50 to 25.
- A heat-treatment water purifier and a 20 L expandable water tank were added.
If you are upgrading an older save, the old rule that a filter was enough will quietly cost you quality. Test before you label and you will see it.
