Probably Stolen water trading starts with five items: a Neon household items sign and a Neon water sign, both sold by Dr. Jackson, plus a Pitcher, a Water Filter and a Water testing kit, bought from the household neon sign seller. Buying the water trading content from Wild's Network upgrades costs 300 Wild's favour and unlocks everything except the household neon sign.

The Daily Trading Loop

  1. Put the Neon water sign in the display case before you open.
  2. Open the shutter. One random customer becomes a water seller.
  3. Buy any water above rustwater quality from them.
  4. Unpack the water rations, or pour the water you bought into the pitcher with the filter equipped.
  5. Test the jug with the testing kit, then label it to the grade you measured.
  6. Put the container in the display case and wait for a buyer.

Water deficit events spike demand for tested jugs. Untested jugs in the same shortage turn into a liability instead of a payday.

Who Pays The Most For Water

The upper-level water stockpiler is the best paying buyer. He has the highest budget but only buys pure-quality water, so put a container of any amount of water relabelled as pure water in the display case to attract him. Selling to him raises your standing with the upper levels, and at 20 upper-level reputation a perk adds +15% to trading with upper levels, which applies to the stockpiler as well.

A worked example: 2000 ml of basewater costs 80 credits. After filtering you have about 1975 ml of high-quality water. Selling that to the stockpiler returns 118 credits with no price modifiers, or 153 credits with the retail markup and the 20-reputation tipping perk — about a 91% return before filter costs.

The commissary sells Sealed Water Ration (Standard) for 30 Tokens, a currency separate from the credits on your shop balance. One commissary panel lists Basic Bandage 8, Nutrifruit 12, Puice 14, Pilk 16, Peat 25, Galaxy Blend 25 and Sealed Water Ration (Standard) 30.

Selling to the stockpiler is also the fastest way to move upper-level standing, which the factions and reputation page covers in full.
