The Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea dungeons number 30 entrances across Teradea, and the world map lists every one of them with the distance and direction from the nearest landmark. Caves in Echoes of Teradea are almost never marked with a sign — you find them by reading the terrain.
Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea dungeons and how to spot an entrance
Three kinds of marker lead into a cave system:
- A cliff face with a vine on it — 160 vines are recorded on the map, and they work in both directions.
- Water you can wade into — the shallow shoreline runs lead somewhere.
- A ladder hidden in the rock — 36 ladders, and they also work in both directions.
The fourth connector is one-way: the Jump-Off Point, marked with a red flag and a button prompt. There are 279 of them, they only go down, and small drops are not possible on foot at all. A further 96 spots require a mount with a jump ability.
30 dungeon entrances by region
| Region | Count |
|---|---|
| Bloomfield | 9 |
| Forest of Echoes | 7 |
| Quarrytop | 3 |
| Great Lava Cavern | 3 |
| Maplehill | 3 |
| The Desert | 3 |
| Tidewind | 2 |
The map gives each one as a distance and a bearing from the nearest landmark. The Bloomfield nine are 246 m southeast of Bloomfield Village, 173 m south of Bloomfield Village, 236 m southeast of Wolf Hill, 101 m west of Bloomfield Island, 212 m northeast of Jade Plateau, 174 m northwest of Wolf Hill, 73 m south of Spirit Tree of Spring, 55 m northeast of Jade Plateau and 101 m northwest of Horseshoe Islands.
The multi-floor dungeon is separate from all of these, and it is on the mine floors page.
Four routes with exact directions
- Underhill Cave, east of Bloomfield Village: travel to the coastline and head south along the shallow water, past the 4 islands, until you cannot go any farther. The cave inside holds Iron Ore and Copper Ore nodes.
- Wolfrock Cave, just west of the Bloomfield Spirit Tree: from the Spirit Tree of Spring warp statue, climb down two sets of vines and avoid a Bengal Tiger on the way. There is also a Power Wisp Fruit to collect if you have water in your watering can.
- Hidden Cave Beneath the University, in Maplehill: go up the winding path to the right of the university entrance, through the gate on your left, across a bridge, and into the Garden of Wisdom, then look along the west wall for a small ramp leading down into a dungeon. It holds Moonstone.
- Great Cavern at the Foot of Mount Quarrytop: exit Quarrytop through the lower-level exit to the west, find the ladder a little north of the Whitetop Bridge and go down to water level, then head east and cross the waterfall ledge using a mount with the jump ability. The cavern on the other side holds Raw Crystal Gemstone and Titanium Ore.
The materials inside are the same everywhere, and where they sit is on the ore and gems page.
The named caverns
The map carries the proper names of the notable caverns and caves, and those names are how players actually find them: Underhill Cave, Wolfrock Cave, Garland Cave, Sandstorm Cave, Sunken Cave, Shady Cave, Forgotten Cave, Forgotten Ruins, Dormant Mist Cave, Flowering Branch Cave, Scattered Water Cave, Dense Forest Eroded Cave, Hidden Cave Beneath the University, Sand-Covered Cave, Concealed Cave of the Pathway, Quicksand Labyrinth, Frozen Galaxy Labyrinth, Crystal Cave, Icefall Cave, Whistling Wind Cave, Great Breezy Cavern, Great Waterway Cavern (plus East and West), Azure Moon Great Cavern, Bloomfield Island Great Cavern, Great Cavern at the Foot of Mount Quarrytop, Miners' Descent and Descending Cave.
Why the DocPad makes caves findable
Caves are where the DocPad pays off. After Doc Jr. finishes the component for his upgrade, the device becomes the DocPad Zero Doc Jr. Edition with a dowsing function that locates items hidden underground such as ore, and it can also point you toward Power Wisp Statues.
Without it you are reading the terrain and guessing. With it, the ore runs become a three-day loop rather than a hunt. The upgrade is part of the Maplehill chapter, and the story order is on the walkthrough page.
