The Tenebris Somnia photo puzzle has two halves: developing a single print in the film school darkroom, and placing four photographs at the poem panels in the Floor 3 Study. Both are needed — the developed Photo opens the bedside drawer that holds the Hexagonal Stone.
Developing the photograph: the Tenebris Somnia photo puzzle
The final film set sits behind the boards at the top of the Floor 1 dining-set staircase.
- Use the Cold Chisel plus a melee hit to remove the boards.
- Use the White Bulb on the blood-covered table to make a Red Light Bulb.
- In the Photo Developing room, put the Red Light Bulb in the lower-left lamp.
- Use the Chemicals at the developing trays above that lamp.
- Use the Photo Roll on the table along the north wall to obtain a Negative.
- Use the Negative at the enlarger on the upper-left table, then the Photo Paper there, to obtain a Printed Photo.
- Use the Printed Photo at the chemical trays. After the scene you receive the developed Photo.
The developed Photo goes into the empty frame on the Floor 3 bedside table, and that drawer opens with the Hexagonal Stone inside.
The Photo Roll is on the theater-lobby floor on Floor 1, the Photo Paper is in the blue Screenwriting classroom on the film school's ground floor, and the Chemicals can also be taken from the table inside the sealed Floor 3 apartment bathroom once you have opened it with the Red Pentacle Stone. Every item the darkroom needs is in the item locations list.
The poem panels on the study wall
In the Floor 3 Study there are four poems on the right-hand wall and four photograph slots at the Roman-numeral panels I to IV. The Photographs are collected from the Floor 2 Study clothes rack.
The poems are shuffled each run, but only four verse sets exist, so the opening line identifies the whole arrangement:
- "He nestles in her hand…" — hand with ring / ear with butterfly earring / shiny or sparkly black dress / black pearls necklace.
- "You're dead…" — cross necklace / feet with moon ankle bracelets / Julia wearing sunglasses / Julia wearing a black veil.
- "I'm dreaming…" — lips with lipstick (the mouth) / Julia wearing sunglasses / ear with butterfly earring / plain black dress.
- "Adorned with the blue of silver…" — feet with moon ankle bracelets / shiny or sparkly black dress / Julia's closed eyes / the black glove.
Place them in panels I to IV by those opening lines. The correct pictures crack in sequence and Julia hears glass break downstairs, which is the confirmation that the arrangement is right. The four photographs and the poem panels themselves are in the item locations list.
