Tenebris Somnia puzzles fall into three kinds, and the kind tells you how to solve it: something shows you a code you have to copy, something has to be physically rebuilt, or something has to sound right. Pick the group your stuck puzzle belongs to.
Symbol and code puzzles
- TV puzzle — power the remote on Floor 3, read the symbol sequence off the Floor 2 set, then copy it onto the floor plates.
- Floor puzzle — the pressure plates outside the bedroom, the lead fly tiles in the theater, and the colour order that drives the elevator.
Picture and object puzzles
- Picture puzzle — rebuild the torn Devora poster from six cardboard pieces, and later fill the empty frame on the Floor 3 bedside table.
- Photo puzzle — develop the print in the film school darkroom, then place the four photographs at the poem panels.
Sound puzzles
- Bottle puzzle — fill the glass pitcher behind the bar until its pitch matches the counter bell, then smash it for the USB Cable.
The Tenebris Somnia puzzles that reroll every run
Three puzzles are randomized every playthrough, so a published answer for them is always wrong. Solve them by method:
- the bottle pitch at the bar — keep the bell's note as your reference and change the pitcher's level until it matches, instead of expecting a published combination. The bottle puzzle page has the full method.
- the elevator colour order — the list Julia writes into the Old Book is the only correct order for your run.
- the fly-tile route — watch which tiles you cross, because the statue's sulfur coating resets when you step wrong.
The bottle pitch is the one you meet first: the bar sits between the apartment floors and the elevator code it unlocks opens the projector room on Floor 1.
Where each puzzle shows up
Every puzzle is tied to a floor and a door it opens, so knowing the location tells you which one you are looking at. The Floor 2 pressure plates, the fly tiles on Floor 1 and the elevator colours are all floor-based puzzles that use the same kind of input — read a sequence, then repeat it — but each has its own twist, and the plates in particular deactivate fast enough that you have to watch the whole sequence before you step. The floor puzzle page covers all three of them.
The full route, with the puzzles in the order you meet them, is in the walkthrough.
