Two picture puzzles sit at the heart of Tenebris Somnia. The first is the torn Devora poster in the Director's Office, which hides the Bathroom Key and gates the first boss. The second is the empty photograph frame on the Floor 3 bedside table, which stays locked until the very end of the game.
The Devora poster: the first Tenebris Somnia picture puzzle
In the chair-lined corridor of the Floor 2 A.S. studio, six cardboard cutouts stand along the wall.
- Take the Scissor Blade from the Floor 2 Kitchen counter.
- Take the second Scissor Blade from the Director's Office desk.
- Combine the two blades into Scissors.
- Cut a piece from each of the six cardboard figures.
- Take all six pieces back to the empty poster frame in the office.
- Rotate and fit them to rebuild the Devora poster.
- Use the Lighter on the completed picture.
The poster burns away and reveals the Bathroom Key behind it. That key unlocks the bathroom, which holds the Mop Handle — and the Mop Handle is what starts the Obscuratus fight, so this puzzle gates the first boss. Version 1.0.1 fixed a bug that allowed unlimited cardboard pieces from this puzzle, so if a piece does not come out the first time, look for the scissors instead of swinging again.
The empty frame on the bedside table
In the Floor 3 apartment, the right bedside drawer stays locked next to an empty photograph frame. You fill it late in the game:
- Develop the Photo in the film school Photo Developing room, using the Red Light Bulb, the Chemicals, the Photo Roll and the Photo Paper.
- Carry the finished Photo back upstairs to Floor 3.
- Put the Photo in the empty frame on the bedside table.
The drawer opens with the Hexagonal Stone inside. That stone opens the sealed door at the top of the film-school staircase, and the room behind it is where the Vitria fight happens.
