Three Tenebris Somnia puzzles are played out on the floor, and all of them reroll per playthrough: the pressure plates outside the Floor 2 bedroom, the lead fly tile route in the Floor 1 theater, and the colour order that drives the elevator.

The pressure plates: the first Tenebris Somnia floor puzzle

With the Floor 2 television running, the symbols it displays are the code for the floor plates outside the bedroom door.

  1. Switch on the Floor 2 television's remote so the set displays a symbol sequence.
  2. Read the whole sequence and write it down before you step anywhere.
  3. Step on the plate that matches the first symbol, then the second, and so on.
  4. The bedroom door opens.

The order is randomized for every save, so no published solution can be copied. The plates also switch off quickly, so a missed step means starting the sequence over. The remote that shows the sequence is covered in the TV puzzle guide.

The fly-tile route

Giant fly statues block the theater entrance on Floor 1.

  1. Take the side door on the left.
  2. Walk the tile path toward the small Lead Fly, watching which tiles you cross. The statue gains a sulfur coating as you approach the right ones.
  3. A wrong step resets the coating, so return to the start and retrace the route from the beginning.
  4. Once the fly is fully coated, break it.
  5. Reproduce exactly the same tile path in the hall for the second fly.
  6. Take the Lead Fly from Julia's seated statue and use it on the matching sealed door.

Both flies clear the theater entrance, and the route through the theater continues in the walkthrough. The path itself is different in every game, so learn the rule — the coating tells you whether you chose right, and it resets on a mistake — rather than trying to remember a tile pattern.

The elevator colour order

In the dark TV room on Floor 0 you light every screen, defeat the enemy that appears, and Julia writes the colour sequence into the Old Book. That list drives the elevator:

  • blue takes you to Floor 3,
  • green to Floor 2,
  • red to Floor 1,
  • white to Floor 0,
  • and when the panel offers Floor -1, take it.

The order is randomized, so an order taken from another playthrough sends you to the wrong floors. Re-open the Old Book and read your own list if the elevator does not reveal -1. What waits on Floor -1 is the Silver Key route, and the silver key guide covers it.
