There is no character tier list for FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE — no official one and no community hero ranking. The only tier list in circulation ranks the 26 Visions by role, and the eight playable heroes are not on it. What the game publishes about each hero is enough to build your own ranking, so that is what this page gives you.
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE character tier list: why there is none
Rankings in this game are not about hero power. A hero is a fixed shell — role, weapon, damage type, Limit Burst — and the Vision equipped in that hero decides most of what they can do in a fight. Ranking the heroes alone would rank four of the eight as interchangeable, which is exactly what the game's own numbers show.
What the game publishes about each hero
- Role: Rain Sentinel, Lasswell Breaker, Fina Medic, Lid Commando, Nichol Synergist, Dark Fina Saboteur, Jake Commando, Sakura Commando.
- Level 99 stat peak: Stamina for Rain and Lid, Spirit for Fina, Speed for Lasswell and Nichol, Strength for Jake, and Magic for Dark Fina and Sakura.
- Weapon and damage type: Rain greatsword, Lasswell katana, Fina bow, Lid hammer, Nichol grimoire, Dark Fina whip, Jake gun, Sakura rod. Fina, Nichol, Dark Fina and Sakura deal magic damage; Rain, Lasswell, Lid and Jake deal physical.
Rank by role scarcity
Role scarcity is the practical stand-in for a tier, because it decides whether a party can cover all six roles:
| Priority | Hero | Role | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Highest | Nichol | Synergist | The only Synergist in the game, and no Vision carries that role |
| High | Fina | Medic | Only three Medics exist in total: Fina, Ayaka and Leah |
| High | Dark Fina | Saboteur | Only two Saboteur Visions exist, and no other hero fills the role |
| Medium | Rain | Sentinel | Four Sentinel Visions exist, but he is the only Sentinel hero |
| Medium | Lasswell | Breaker | Ten Breaker Visions exist, but he is the only Breaker hero |
| Low | Lid, Jake, Sakura | Commando | Three Commando heroes and eight Commando Visions — the most replaceable seats |
Four seats cannot cover six roles without Visions, which is why a party built around Nichol and Fina is worth more than one built around raw damage. The four seats themselves, and what each one should equip, are on the party builds page.
The board ranks Visions, not heroes
The community vote board that does exist covers the 26 Visions and ranks each one inside its own role, so it cannot be read as a hero ranking. How that board works is on the vision tier list page.
What actually moves a hero up
A hero's own level, the Vision equipped in them, the Mastery Rank of that Vision and the weapon Aileen forges for them decide far more than any ranking would. The permanent raises available for each hero are the ones on the side-quests page, and the Vision half of the equation is on the party-builds page.
