How to farm MRP in FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE? Mastery Points, experience and gil come from three different places, and the fastest route for each one changes with the chapter. Here is where to go for each.
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE how to farm MRP
MRP is earned by fighting with a Vision equipped, so the first rule is that the Vision you want to level has to be on someone. It is also the only reward that moves with difficulty: Expert pays 1.5 times, Casual pays the same as Normal.
| Chapter | Best MRP farm | MRP per kill | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Minituar on the island of Grandport | 40 | Its gauge is only 50 and it is weak to Ice and Water, so one 17-power Ice spell is worth 51 on paper. It is level 16 and higher-level enemies are harder to stagger, so plan on a second hit. A lone Dhorme Chimera gives 20 |
| 2 to 4 | Cactuar on Dirnado or Zoldaad | 220 | The Cactuar west of the Sanctum of Onion Knight also gives 1,111 gil |
| 5 | Cactuar on Dirnado or Zoldaad | 220 | The Metal Cactuar near the Jotunn Cave on Mysidia gives 25,000 EXP instead |
| 6 | Gigantuar on Gronoa | 600 | |
| 7 and 8 | Gigantuar on Pharm | 600 | One zone between the Dragon's Maw and the Tartarosaurus Cave holds all three late-game farm monsters |
For the fastest route to a specific Mastery Rank, pick the Vision's element and find a mob weak to it: the Dhorme Chimera is weak to Water, the Floateye is weak to Ice and Light, and the Shark is weak to Lightning.
The best EXP farm per chapter
| Chapter | Best EXP farm | EXP and gil | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dhorme Chimera on the island of Grandport | 300 EXP, 600 gil | Level 16, 6,075 HP, 350 gauge, weak to Water |
| 2 to 4 | Metal Minituar on Dirnado | 2,500 EXP | |
| 5 and 6 | Metal Cactuar on Mysidia, near the Jotunn Cave | 25,000 EXP | Ten times the best of the earlier chapters |
| 7 and 8 | Metal Gigantuar on Pharm | 150,000 EXP | The zone between the Dragon's Maw and the Tartarosaurus Cave holds Metal Gigantuar, Gigantuar and King Gil Snapper |
Single fights pay more per kill but only once: Siren gives 700 EXP and 2,100 gil, the Antlion 300 EXP and 2,400 gil, and the Marauder 500 EXP and 750 gil.
The multipliers that make it faster
| Bonus | Effect | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Stagger Finish Bonus | ×1.3 MRP for defeating the final enemy while it is staggered | Free, and you are staggering anyway |
| Victoria at MR 7 | MRP Gain +50% | 30 AP |
| No Damage Bonus | ×1.2 EXP for winning without taking any damage | Free |
| Overkill Bonus | ×1.3 gil for defeating every enemy during the bonus phase and landing a follow-up attack | Free |
| Mastery Pendant | Doubles MRP | Gear |
| Mastery Ring | +100% MRP for ten uses | Gear |
| Adept's Armlet | Doubles the EXP of the character wearing it | 25,000 gil in the Crystal Tower and airship shops |
Two warnings before you farm
The Antlion, level 20, shares the Grandport map with the Minituar and the Dhorme Chimera and only ambushes you on foot, so ride the chocobo between battles. And the Minituar dodges until it is staggered and is immune to Earth, so stagger it first, then attack.
Expert is the only setting that pays more
EXP and gil are identical on every difficulty, so the setting never changes how fast you level. Only Mastery Points move, and they move once: Expert pays 1.5 times and Casual pays the same as Normal. The full multiplier table is on the difficulty settings page.
The Mastery Rank ladder
Mastery Points are worth spending, and each Vision carries five abilities across MR1 to MR9. The ladder costs depend on the Vision: MR1 10, MR2 35, MR3 95-125, MR4 195-275, MR5 395-595, MR6 575-1,035, MR7 1,195-1,785, MR8 2,195-2,785, MR9 4,195-5,245. You want MR9, because that is when the Spirit unlocks and grants all five abilities in one slot. What each rank opens is on the visions guide page.
