Windows is the only platform the Steam build supports. The store's release date reads Oct 27, 2026, while the publisher's own site news entry says the Steam launch was 28 October.
The Early Purchase Bonus: what it is and how to claim it
Four items come with it, and all four are free:
| Item | What it is |
|---|---|
| Zeneth | A character by Satoshi Matsuura, usable as a COM opponent and as your player avatar |
| Najaran | The second Satoshi Matsuura character, same use |
| Onyx | A Steam-version-exclusive Book (deck) cover |
| Culdra (1st) | A Book cover from the original Culdcept |
Claim path: open the store page for Culdcept BEGINS, scroll to Content for this Game, and open the Early Purchase Bonus entry. The publisher's own Steam-version instructions say exactly that, and give the distribution period as 2026-10-28 00:00 to 2026-12-27 23:59 JST.
The Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 editions use a different route — their bonus is downloaded through the Nintendo eShop — so if you are on Steam, look for the "Early Purchase Bonus" item under "Content for this Game" and not for a console-style download.
The free demo, and which of the three new maps it has
"Culdcept BEGINS Demo" is its own store entry, appid 4217720, and it is free. The publisher says the demo contains one of the three new battle maps: X, the map where every fort sits at a dead end, which makes the map longer than it looks and the fights more frequent. The other two new maps, Fortune Alley and Holy Hammer, are in the full game only.
The Digital Contents Set is not on sale yet
"Culdcept BEGINS 'Digital Contents Set'" is still listed as Coming soon with the price shown as N/A. Its five items are:
- Original Soundtrack (53 tracks)
- Complete Card Book (Japanese)
- 5 PC Wallpapers (1920x1080)
- Bavrashka Font
- In-Game Voice Data (32 voice tracks)
The publisher also says a Digital Deluxe Edition that includes the set will be released as soon as it is ready, so neither the set nor the deluxe edition has a date you can plan around.
What the Steam version adds, and where else it lands
The Steam build brings the three new battle maps, a set of UI improvements and the limited-time free bonus. The three UI improvements are: better visibility of character positions in Map Mode during battles, better card-selection usability in the Information screen during battles, and a clearer display of character movement directions at route junctions.
The publisher states that the same features and improvements are also planned to be released soon as a free update for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions, so the Steam release is not the only place they will appear.
What is still unconfirmed
- The introductory price ends November 10 and the bonus distribution ends December 27, 23:59 JST. Both are printed above so you can check them; neither has a stated extension.
- The Digital Contents Set and the Digital Deluxe Edition have neither a price nor a date.
- No public source says whether Books, cards or titles earned on the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 edition carry over to the Steam build.

Prices, discounts and bonus windows all move. Re-read the store page before you buy, then see the version page for which build you get, the Steam Deck and controller page for whether it runs on your hardware, and Beginner Tips for how the game plays. If the question is which Culdcept to buy rather than what BEGINS costs, the comparison page puts the two Steam games and the bundle side by side.
