The Steam edition of Culdcept BEGINS launched on 27 October 2026 per the store's release date — the publisher's own site news entry dates the Steam launch 28 October — and as observed on 2026-10-30 the Steam build has published no patch notes of its own. Every update notice the publisher has released so far is for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions, so a PC player who hits a bug has no first-party changelog to read yet. The publisher's Update Information page is where the first PC patch will appear.
The publisher's full update history
| Version | Date | Platform | What it changed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0.6 | 2026.09.15 | Nintendo Switch / Nintendo Switch 2 only | Connection drops, two force-close crashes, one unresponsive-state bug, one Card Shop data bug and one unobtainable title. Details below. |
| 1.0.5 | 2026.08.21 | Nintendo Switch / Nintendo Switch 2 only | Online matchmaking: fixed hard-to-match sessions, Quick Match not connecting, unjoinable rooms showing in search, too few rooms listed, a room not found by a correct ID, and matchmaking not restarting after a failure without relaunching. |
| 1.0.4 | 2026.08.04 | Nintendo Switch / Nintendo Switch 2 only | Fixed save data not updating correctly (which could force-quit the game), interrupting a COM battle, entering the results screen, creating/editing/copying a Book, buying card packs and buying or selling cards, and obtaining titles. Online matchmaking was left for the next update. |
| 1.0.3 | 2026.07.16 | Nintendo Switch / Nintendo Switch 2 only | Added more maps selectable in GameShare battles, a navigation display for the zoom function in Camera/Goggle Mode, a selectable magic goal when the battle map is random, and new Card Shop thumbnail images. |
What 1.0.6 changed, symptom by symptom
Because this is the newest note the publisher has written, it is the one worth recognising on PC. If you are seeing any of these on Steam, they are the known bugs and not something you did wrong:
- Players being dropped mid-match. The disconnection detection during online matches was adjusted to reduce how often it happens.
- Playtime inflated by sleep mode. Time spent asleep is no longer added to the total in Records. Time already added stays as it is.
- The game force-closing at the Cathedral during a match.
- The game force-closing while editing Books or using the Card Shop.
- Card effects firing oddly when Auto Mode ended because the time limit expired.
- The game becoming unresponsive when switching Map Modes during a match.
- Unacquired card details showing in the contents of Card Shop packs.
- "Thank the Fairies" sometimes not being obtained. That is one of the 106 in-game titles — the titles page lists it and its condition.
Where the Steam build actually stands
- The Steam news feed for the game still carries only the "Demo Play" post from 9 July 2026, so there is no patch note on the store's news tab either.
- The store's release date reads Oct 27, 2026; the publisher's news entry says the game became available on Steam on 28 October 2026.
- There is no published Steam build number and no PC changelog to compare it against. If you need to report something, quote your Steam client build and the store page's release date.
Where the first PC patch will appear
The publisher's Update Information page is the one surface that carries version notices for this game, and it is where the first PC entry will be posted. The Beginner Tips guide keeps its own version note on the same page — the Beginner Tips section — but that note is a pointer, not the history.
What is still unconfirmed
- Whether the first PC patch will even use the same 1.0.x numbering as the Switch build.
- Whether any of the 1.0.6 fixes were carried into the Steam launch build. The Steam build shipped after 1.0.6, but the publisher has not said the Switch fixes were applied to it, so treat them as unconfirmed on PC.
