Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea crops come to 160 crops and 80 flowers, and the farming is deliberately hands-off: your tool is selected automatically, so there is no tool belt to manage and you never drop the wrong tool on a full inventory.

The encyclopedia is the crop reference: the base entry for each crop lists every mutation that crop can produce.
Your fields and orchard plots
Bloomfield gives you four fields plus four orchard fields. The orchard fields are where tree seedlings go, with two designated tree spots per field, and they need no maintenance at all. What makes them worth planting is seasonality: a species only fruits in its own season, so an orchard spread across the year produces something every season instead of one glut.
The size of the land changes when you move your farm, and the plot count of every farm is listed on the crop mutation page.

Watering, tools and fences
Everything except orchard seedlings has to be watered daily unless it rains, and you can upgrade your watering can so it covers more tiles at once. Rain covers Tidewind completely, so crops there need no water at all.
Tool selection is automatic and there is nothing to manage: if the land needs tilling your hoe comes out, if seeds can be planted they get planted, and if fruit is ripe your character harvests it. You can build a fence around a field instantly at the crafting table if you have the right wood, and fences matter for more than crop theft — they are the reason town plots survive storms. They also have a cost: the soil and fertilizer page explains why letting your animals graze is sometimes the better trade.
Where seeds come from
Seeds are cheap and plentiful: base-level seeds cost 5 to 10 G, mutated seeds cost more, and some seed lines have a stock limit in the tens (20, 30 and similar) while others are unlimited. Seeds for crop and flower mutations are sold alongside ordinary seeds in the general stores and by the Traveling Merchant.
Region-locked seeds matter for requests: Pumpkin seeds only appear at Heather's General Store in Quarrytop after you complete Quarrytop Chapter 1, and San Marzano Seeds are sold at the Maple Mart in Maplehill for 55 G each. The full mapping of which seed lives in which soil is on the crop mutation page.
The encyclopedia as your crop reference
The encyclopedia sits on the 6th tab of the menu, under a book icon with a sprout on the cover, and it records every crop and flower you have acquired. The base entry lists all of the possible mutations for that crop, which makes it the reference to check before you plan a rotation or hunt for the last missing variety.
It is also the cheapest way to complete three achievements at once: Blessing of the Earth for harvesting all types of crops, and The All-Knowing One for completing every encyclopedia.
