Probably Stolen night scavenging is the trade of night hours against tomorrow's traffic. After close you can pick the dumping grounds instead of sleeping, and the game states the penalty in plain text: you opened late because of last night's activities and you missed a customer.
Probably Stolen Night Scavenging: What To Carry
- A pack. Without one the loot cannot leave the map.
- A bandage. You cannot scavenge while wounded, so a bad trip costs more than the bandage.
- A plasma cutter, if you own one, because broken machines are the scrap the furnace wants.
You get a limited number of digs per visit — early footage showed about five attempts — and scanner upgrades change how often the good tiles appear.
Pack, bandage and cutter are ordinary stock rather than special tools, and the item list page has what each of them is.
Wounds, Digging And The Haul
Wound risk is published:
| Outcome | Chance per attempt |
|---|---|
| Minor wound | 10.00% |
| Major wound | 2.25% |
You cannot scavenge while wounded, so a bad trip costs the night as well as the bandage.
What turns up:
- Junk and good sets that fill a furnace.
- Ruined modules that can tag surprisingly high — 30 credits showed up early in a first-look run.
- Tools such as wire cutters and scanners.
- Scratch tickets.
- Scrap metal from broken machines.
Put the haul away when you get back. The outside counter is still a theft magnet, and a toolbox stays at the shop rather than following you into the trash.
When To Go Out And When To Stay In
Go out when:
- You need furnace inputs more than one extra morning walk-in.
- A new tool could pay for itself.
- You are ahead on rent and can afford a late opening.
Stay in when:
- Rent is due in the morning.
- Attractiveness is already wounded.
- You have no bandage.
- An overnight machine needs the night more.
Time-box the run. A 30-credit module does not beat a missed paying regular. Higher-level scavengers also turn up as sellers, offering hot lots above your deck — those are counter deals with heat, not your dump trip, and they need the usual inspection.
The scrap you haul back is furnace input, and the machines and modules page covers what to do with it once it is in the bay.
