Isekai Guardians class not leveling: A class XP bar that fills and then refuses to move is almost always waiting on you. Open the class progression panel, confirm any pending advancement, and check that your equipped set is the class you think it is — a pending level-up and a gear change are the two usual causes.
Isekai Guardians class not leveling: what stops the bar
When a class XP bar fills, you have to confirm the level-up in the class progression panel before class XP starts accumulating again. Until the advancement is confirmed, the bar sits full and your experience effectively goes nowhere.
This is the single most common reason a class looks stuck, and it looks exactly like a bug if you never open the panel. Check it whenever the bar stops at a round number.
Specialist classes may need skillbooks
A specialist class can additionally require matching skillbooks before it will advance. If the class is a Mage, Archer or Warrior set and you are missing the books for it, the level-up stays blocked no matter how much XP you earn.
So there are two separate gates on the same class: the pending advancement you confirm yourself, and the skillbooks the class requires. Clear the first, then check the second.
Your gear decides which class earns the XP
Your equipped set determines which class gains XP, which means changing gear can move your experience to a different class without any warning on screen. If you swapped a piece of equipment and your old class stopped progressing, this is why.
Open the Gear screen and read the set fraction before you assume a class is broken. If it shows a partial set and a different active class, that is your answer.
Class level is not character level
Character XP and class XP are two separate progressions that feed each other. Earning character XP also progresses your current class, and class levels improve weapon efficiency, so the two move in parallel without being the same bar.
Class advancement is also separate from character level and from training, which is why training more does not unstick a class that is waiting on a confirmation. If the class is confirmed and correctly geared, the remaining lever is the base stats underneath, which is what the Training Grounds guide covers.
The stats your class leans on
A class bonus is only part of your fighting strength. Power, Defense, Accuracy and Evasion decide how a fight actually resolves, and a class that levels but still loses fights usually points at the wrong stat rather than a wrong class.
The stat guide explains what each one controls, why missing often is an Accuracy problem rather than a Power problem, and why a training panel and a character sheet can show different numbers for the same character.
A quick order to check things
When a class is stuck, work through it in this order:
- Open the class progression panel and confirm any pending level-up.
- Check whether your specialist class still needs matching skillbooks.
- Read the set fraction on the Gear screen and confirm the active class is the one you expect.
- Only after those three are clear, look at training and gear quality.
Most stops are resolved in the first two steps, and each one takes seconds to check.
