Isekai Guardians how to spy on other players: Intel is the system that lets you learn about another player. Train Spying to improve your intelligence gathering and Shrouding to resist other people's attempts, then make your attempt on a target who is in your own city and not travelling — the report can show their location, their approximate combat stats and their elemental allegiance.
Isekai Guardians how to spy on other players: the steps
Two complementary trainings sit behind Intel:
- Spying improves your intelligence gathering.
- Shrouding resists other people's attempts against you.
Both are trained through Intel, and both training and spying spend Energy. That makes Spying a genuine investment rather than a one-off action, since the training is what makes your attempts more effective.
Running a spying attempt
- Train Spying, and keep Shrouding up as well so other players have a harder time reading you.
- Find a target who is in the same city as you.
- Make sure neither of you is travelling, since being on the road blocks the attempt.
- Make the attempt. It spends Energy, and a successful attempt produces a report.
- Read the report: it shows the target's location, and after a successful same-city attempt it can also show approximate combat stats and their allegiance.
- Treat the numbers as estimates rather than a perfect prediction of a fight.
What blocks an attempt, and what the target knows
Two things can stop you:
- Temple status. If the target is down or recovering, an attempt will not land.
- Newcomer protection. A protected character cannot be targeted this way.
Also worth knowing: a same-city spying attempt can notify the target that they were spied. Do not assume you are invisible, and do not assume the target will stay where they were when you come back.
After the report: fighting the target
Robbery is the PvP follow-up to a report. If the attacker wins the fight, they can take some of the target's carried Gold. The same conditions apply: both players must be in the same city and not travelling, and Temple status and newcomer protection can prevent attempts.
Repeated attempts against one target reduce the amount of Gold available to steal, so a target who has been robbed recently is a thinner target than the first report suggests.
If you want a cleaner fight than a robbery attempt, the Arena is the structured place to test a build against real players: both fighters start at full Life, and your real Life is untouched. The Arena guide covers the registration, matchmaking and rating side of it.
Keep the gold out of reach
The reason to robbery-proof your savings is that carried Gold is the vulnerable part. Bank deposits and an upgradeable home safe are the two storage options, and both take Gold out of your inventory where a robber cannot reach it.
A safe stores gold up to its capacity, so upgrade it before you deposit rather than after, and treat the bank as the place for the bulk of your savings. The property upgrades guide covers the safe and the rest of the residential upgrades.
