Isekai Guardians magic anvil upgrade: The Magic Anvil enhances eligible weapons and armor using Gold and the matching upgrade crystals. Select the item, read the current level, the cost, the success chance and the stat preview, and only then commit — a failed attempt still consumes the resources it displayed.
Isekai Guardians magic anvil upgrade: the routine
- Open the Magic Anvil and select the weapon or armor piece you want to enhance. Only eligible items can be enhanced at all.
- Read the item's current enhancement level.
- Read the cost: the Gold it takes and which upgrade crystals it consumes.
- Read the success chance for this attempt.
- Read the stat preview, which shows what the item becomes if the attempt succeeds.
- Commit only when all four numbers match what you are willing to spend.
The preview is the whole point of the screen. Every number you need is on it before you click, so an upgrade that costs more than the item is worth is a decision you can see yourself making.
A failed attempt still spends the crystals
An upgrade attempt is not always successful. When it fails, the displayed resources are still consumed, and the item keeps the enhancement it already had — you lose the crystals and the Gold, but you do not downgrade the piece.
That is why you should budget for attempts rather than assuming every click produces an improvement. Treat the cost of the anvil as an ongoing expense on a piece, not a one-off price, and stop when the preview stops being worth what it costs.
The crystals for these attempts come from turning unwanted equipment in, and the inscribing and recycling guide explains how the Recycler converts spares and what reduces the yield.
Check the set before you enhance
Four things decide how strong a piece is: tier, rarity, quality and enhancement. Enhancement is only one of them, and it is the one you pay for in failure-prone attempts.
Higher tiers carry level requirements that the item panel tells you about, so check those before you spend. And check the set: a piece that completes your set changes your class, while a piece that improves nothing you use is an expensive decoration. The class guide explains how a set activates and why the fraction on your Gear screen is the number to watch.
A workable spending order
- Finish your set first, then enhance the pieces that are actually in it.
- Upgrade the item you use every day before the one you only occasionally equip.
- Watch the success chance as the enhancement level climbs, and stop before the cost per attempt outruns the preview's gain.
- Keep the crystals for a piece you will keep, and sell the rest instead of enhancing it.
The anvil rewards patience. A failed attempt is a sunk cost, and the item keeps exactly the enhancement it had before.
