As of 2026-10-29, the Open Beta reset is scheduled rather than a surprise: the beta closes on 04.12.2026, the servers stay offline while the live ones are prepared, and the official launch is 18.12.2026. When the servers come back, character and gameplay progress is reset — levels, gear, your Guardian collection, mission progress and farm progress do not carry over. What survives is your account, the event items you earned as a reward, and everything you paid for.
What the reset takes
| What you built during the Open Beta | What happens at launch |
|---|---|
| Character levels and developed characters | Reset. The store FAQ says characters "will not carry over to launch". |
| Gear and upgrades | Reset, as part of the same gameplay progression. |
| Your Guardian collection | Reset, as part of the same gameplay progression. |
| Mission progress and mission prestige | Reset. |
| Farm progress and other gathering progress | Reset. |
Three public statements agree on this. The Steam store's Early Access FAQ says: "Open Beta progress will be reset before the full release. Progress is saved during the beta, but characters and gameplay progression will not carry over to launch." The official site's Open Beta note says "Your progress is saved during the Open Beta but will be reset before the launch", and the same site's FAQ answers "Will there be wipes?" with "Yes. Game progress is reset during Alpha and Closed Beta, and again after Open Beta, before the official launch."
What survives the reset
- Your account, and your name. You register on the official site during the beta and you log into that same account at launch. The site's FAQ lists "Early name reservation" among what early supporters receive.
- The Halloween event items. The skins and the Plushie you unlock during the beta are kept and delivered to your in-game mailbox at launch.
- Purchased Premium time and eligible beta purchases. Restored or credited at launch, according to the terms shown for each offer.
- Premium Packs and Gems. Copied in full to your release account, even if you opened or spent them during the beta.
The Halloween items arrive by mailbox
The announcement of 19 Oct 2026 is explicit: "Every Halloween skin and the Plushie you earn during the Open Beta will be yours to keep! All unlocked event rewards will be sent to your in-game mailbox when Isekai Guardians officially launches, so you won't lose your hard-earned Halloween collectibles."
That is the practical difference between an event item and everything else in your account. Levels, gear and Guardians are rebuilt from scratch; the Halloween skins and the special Halloween Plushie are waiting in the mailbox when you come back. Unlock them before 04.12.2026, because the event ends with the beta.
Premium bought during the Open Beta
The official site's Open Beta Premium section states three rules:
- Premium throughout the beta. "Any Open Beta Premium preorder unlocks Premium for the entire Open Beta, whichever duration you choose."
- Your time starts at launch. "Your full purchased 1, 3, 6 or 12 months of Premium starts at release. Playing during beta does not use up that time."
- The tier's cosmetic comes back. "Each preorder tier includes its own surprise beta cosmetic. Enjoy it during beta and receive it again after the launch reset."
The summary line under them is the plain version: "Game progress resets before release. Your purchased Premium time and preorder cosmetic are restored for your next chapter."
The store FAQ gives the general rule for every purchase rather than only preorders: "Purchased Premium time and eligible beta purchases will be restored or credited at launch according to the terms shown for each offer, despite the gameplay progress reset." Read the terms on the offer you actually bought, in the live store, rather than working from this page.
Premium Packs and Gems keep their full value
The site puts it in one line: "Enjoy them in beta. Keep their full value at launch." — "Purchased Premium Packs and Gems are copied in full to your release account after the reset, even if you opened or spent them during Open Beta."
So spending Gems during the beta does not reduce what arrives at launch, and a Premium Pack you already opened is still copied across in full.
The server shutdown sits between the wipe and the launch
After 04.12.2026 the servers are offline until the official launch on 18.12.2026: the official site's own timeline step, "Server preparation & downtime", reads "Servers will be offline while we prepare the live servers", and the store FAQ says the same — "A planned server shutdown follows the beta while we prepare for release."
The release schedule has the three dates and how to read them.
After the Open Beta, no further wipe is announced
The "Release Schedule" announcement of 14 Oct 2026 presented the Open Beta and the Early Access release as the "(no more wipes)" dates, so read as published the reset after the Open Beta is the last wipe the developer has announced. The FAQ puts the order the same way: a reset during Alpha, a reset during Closed Beta, and a reset again after the Open Beta, before the official launch.
What the wipe pays you back for
The official FAQ answers "Why join Alpha or Beta if there are wipes?" with a list of what early supporters receive:
- Early adopter achievements
- Special titles
- Collectible items
- Early name reservation
Where to read the current wording
- Steam announcements hub — every dated release and event post sits here, and it is the first place to look when the terms below change.
- "Open Beta & Halloween Event: October 23rd!", 19 Oct 2026 — the Halloween event, the mailbox delivery, and the "yours to keep" wording.
- "Release Schedule", 14 Oct 2026 — the beta and launch dates and the "(no more wipes)" wording.
- "Steam Release delayed", 22 Oct 2026 — why the Steam build is not live yet and how Steam links to your beta account later.
- The store page's Early Access FAQ — the reset paragraph and the "restored or credited at launch" wording.
- The official site — the FAQ, the Open Beta Premium terms and the countdown.

These terms are the developer's as of 2026-10-29, and the reset is a live plan rather than a finished rule. Before you spend money during the beta or plan around 18.12.2026, re-read the Steam announcements hub and the store FAQ, because the launch terms have already moved once — the Steam build itself slipped after the original date.
